QMCB Code of Ethics:

Qualitech Medical Claims & Billing Services (QMCB) understands the sensitive nature of the Health care industry and the importance of defining and abiding to a predefined code of ethics and professionalism. Providing support services to health care professionals calls for the same level of care and competency to achieve success and regard in the field. The handling of Medical Billing, accounts management and other services for health care providers demands a high level of ethical behavior based on the understanding that health care billing and management are not merely business operations but are professional services.

QMCB has pre-defined this Code of Ethics for all its employees as a guide for exhibiting a professional presence as they grow and succeed in the medical billing industry. QMCBs insistence on its employees to adhere to these pre-defined ethics and conduct with clients, peers and patients will greatly improve the image and reputation of the Medical Billing and management services industries. It expresses the true definition of a "Medical Billing professional" and QMCB employees.

The Medical Claims & Billing Industry play a very unique role of being the liaison between the purchaser, the supplier and the provider of healthcare services.  In this role, QMCB believes that it is our responsibility to abide by the following ethics:

Part 1: Code of Ethics

  1. Provide accurate and honest information essential to our client.

  2. Maintain confidentiality and protect the personal, medical and financial information supplied by our client and use such information only to the benefit of our client.

  3. Be sure to obtain written consent from the client or designee for the disclosure of any personal, medical or financial information

  4. Only provide client information to insurers, governmental agencies, health care providers, facilities or other entities specified by our client and deemed necessary for the resolution and payment of health insurance claims for our client.

  5. Be objective and completely avoid any conflict of interest in all business activities.

  6. Perform all business activities with the highest sense of integrity.

  7. Act in a way that will honor the public interest and demonstrate a commitment to professionalism and competence

  8. Improve the quality and competence of services performed through continuing education.

  9. Serve the clients with care and due diligence.

  10. Be sensitive, professional and exhibit a good moral judgment in all business activities.

  11.  Do not ever willingly or knowingly be party to the submission of fraudulent claims information to insurers, governmental agencies or health care providers.

  12. Comply with all relevant Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations.

  13. Do not mislead or make false statements about professional qualifications, experience, performance or results that can be achieved.

  14. Always raise the standards of the Medical Billing and Coding profession by abiding to the ethical conduct of the business, including the explanation of services rendered and the disclosure of fees for such services and fees for additional services prior to performing them.

Part 2: Principles

  1. Our responsibilities
    Medical Billing Professionals perform an essential role in the health care industry. Consistence with that role, we have the responsibility of providing competent and professional services to those who retain our services. Additionally, we recognize a continuing responsibility to maintain and improve our services for the good of the general public.
  2. Protection of the Public Interest
    One of the hallmarks of our profession is the recognition and acceptance of our responsibilities to the public. These persons include our clients, patients, health care providers, physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, and others who may rely on the objectivity and integrity of the medical billing profession.

  3. Maintaining Objectivity and Impartiality
    The principles of objectivity imposes the obligation to be impartial, ineffectually honest, and free of conflicts of interest. Impartiality precludes relationships that may appear to impair our objectivity in rendering services. We just remain impartial and objective and are free of conflicts of interest in discharging our professional responsibilities. We should be independent in fact and appearance when providing our services. Objectivity is a state of mind, a quality that leads value to our services.

  4. Professional Due Care and Competence
    We must observe our profession's technical standards continually to improve competence and the quality of services, and discharge professional responsibility to the best of our ability. Due care requires us to discharge professional responsibility with competence and elegance. Competence begins with an understanding of the basic Knowledge required to provide our service. Competence represents the attainment and maintenance of a level of understanding and knowledge that enables us to render service with facility and acumen. Diligence imposes the responsibility to render services promptly and carefully, to be through.

 Part 3: Procedures and Guidelines

  1. Integrity and Objectivity
    In the performance of any professional service, we shall maintain objectivity and integrity, shall be free of conflicts of interest, and shall never knowingly misrepresent facts to our clients or the public.
  2. General Standards
    We shall comply with these standards:

  3. (A) Professional competence-undertake only those professional services that we can reasonability expect to be completed with professional competence.

    (B) Professional due care-exercise due professional care in the performance of Professional Services.

    (C) Professional Integrity- we will conduct our business with the highest degree of integrity and in the best interest of our clients and the general public.

  4. Confidentiality
    We shall not disclose any confidential information unless instructed to do so by the Provider.
  5. Fee's
    Professional services shall be offered or rendered on either a per-claim or percentage basis or under an arrangement whereby no fee will be charged unless a specific result is obtained. The rate and means of billing shall be made explicit.
